If you’re talking about CBD oil drops, they are usually labeled with the total amount of CBD in the bottle.

So, if the label says 500 mg CBD, that means that there should be 500 mg in the whole bottle, not per serving.

But to determine how potent the oil is, you have to look at the size of the bottle. Most brands use 30 mL bottles, but 15 mL and 60 mL sizes are also common.

To determine how strong the oil is, divide the milligrams of CBD by the size of the bottle.

For example, let’s say you’re comparing the following products:

    1. A 60 mL bottle with 3,000 mg CBD
    2. A 30 mL bottle with 1,500 mg CBD
    3. A 15 mL bottle with 750 mg CBD

When you do the math, each of these contains 50 mg/mL, so they are all the same strength in terms of CBD potency.

Everyone is different and it depends what benefits you are after. For mental health I would start with a small dose of 10–20mg, gradually adding more if you feel it necessary. For pain, you may want to start with a higher dose of 40–50mg, gradually adding more until you feel relief. For more severe ailments much higher doses may be needed. The wonderful part is you can get these high dosage CBD concentrates with little to no THC so you do not need to worry about getting high while you figure out your sweet spot with dosing.

Well that’s kind of a tough question to answer.

CBD is generally diluted into a carrier oil (like coconut oil). The dilution depends on the product but generally the amount of mg per bottle is about 300–1500mg.

The strongest i’ve seen on the market is upwards of 2500mg

Technically you could have 100% just CBD oil which would be very thick, and VERY expensive. It would be hard to find unless you know someone making it themselves *which takes very high powered and expensive technologies*

It depends on what you are taking it for, how severe your symptoms are. I take my Medicinal Essentials CBD oil for Fibromyalgia so I started off at a strong strength as I wanted to kick it in the butt. 1500mg. Most people start off around 750mg. Medicinal Essentials sells a 300mg which in my opinion is a good “supplement” for the benefits of CBD for stress and anxiety and general health. It would also be good for children. You can not over dose on CBD, so taking more only increases the value of it. Everyone is different, so just try a lower dose, and if it’s not enough, increase it.

To use for what? The FDA has not approved any CBD products for use yet. Without FDA approval with its requirements and consumer information protection, you have no way of knowing anything other than what the manufacturer or seller is telling you. Of course, the seller always highly recommends their product and may “certify” their claims with official-sounding organizations set up by the industry. Buyer beware. And the reason for no FDA approval? So far medical research has not met the hype.

*These dosing guidelines are estimates. Your perfect dose may not align with this chart, and that is okay. Start low and go slow. Some ailments require more CBD for therapeutic benefits. For best results, it is recommended to take 1-2 times a day.

10mg is a good threshold dose. It is great for mild pain and supplemental/preventative medicinal use. Severe pain or ailments can dose between 40–100+ mg a day.

Note: The milligrams on the bottle is the denotation of the entire bottle, NOT the per dose.

It is important to know the mg/ml to dose correctly.
